The Ethereum Foundation (EF) is dedicated to fostering the growth of the Ethereum ecosystem, and there remain numerous opportunities to explore how Ethereum can benefit the world. For this reason, we back individuals who have the potential to reveal untold chapters in Ethereum’s narrative.

The Devcon Scholars Program offered support to enhance accessibility for 50 individuals we believed could positively influence Ethereum and its community, despite facing financial barriers to attendance.

The Program

We selected individuals whose participation would add value to Devcon and the ecosystem. Scholars were chosen based on their past experiences and their intentions to contribute to Ethereum.

Scholars received programming and resources to ready them for Devcon, including “Learning Sessions” with prominent figures in the Ethereum community. During Devcon, Scholars tailored their experiences by selecting the talks and events they wished to attend, some of which are detailed below.

Of the cohort, 50% hailed from Latin America. Furthermore, 70% of Scholars participated in the ETHBogota hackathon, with many achieving recognition through awards.

To Infinity and Beyond

Our aspiration for the Devcon Scholars program was to sow new seeds in the Infinite Garden: to nurture builders contributing to the Ethereum ecosystem from various backgrounds and disciplines. After gauging feedback from Scholars, it’s clear that participants now feel empowered to make significant contributions to Ethereum and its future.

With this cohort, we trust their impact will resonate throughout the ecosystem now and in the years to come. This is merely the start.

Here’s to the future we will create together! 🦄
