Named the “President Trump First Edition Silver Medallion,” the initiative seeks to provide silver objects to Americans who are backing the Republican candidate. Meanwhile, cryptocurrency enthusiasts continue to hope for an official crypto asset release from Trump as part of his campaign efforts.

Trump to Unveil New Coin

The presidential contender recently shared that the new coins will retail for $100 each through the RealTrumpCoins.com website. He specified that the digital asset is minted from 99.9% pure silver. The “limited-edition” coin features Trump’s likeness on one side and the White House alongside the phrase, “In God We Trust,” on the reverse side.

With only weeks remaining until the highly anticipated United States presidential election, Trump is actively seeking various means to gather funds for his campaign. The forthcoming silver coins represent his latest strategy to raise capital for his political endeavor.

Trump stressed that this silver asset is the “ONLY OFFICIAL coin” he has designed and that its minting was conducted in the United States.

Wen Crypto?

In recent months, a number of meme coins themed around Trump have emerged. However, he has distanced himself from these tokens while introducing his silver coins. He remarked:

I’ve noticed many coins circulating with my very beautiful face. [. . .] But they are not the official coin. Realtrumpcoin.com is the only place to find an official Trump coin.

At first glance, Trump’s new announcement regarding an official coin might suggest he is finally launching a cryptocurrency. For months, his supporters have been eager for an official cryptocurrency from the political figure. Just last week, 84% of bettors on Polymarket anticipated a Trump coin in light of a crypto project called World Liberty Financial.

While Trump’s World Liberty Financial was accompanied by a governance token known as WLFI, it ultimately lacked many of the characteristics associated with a cryptocurrency.
