Request Finance Expands Its Presence on the Fantom Network

In August 2021, we announced that the user-friendly Request Finance application for generating, tracking, and processing invoices became available to the growing Fantom user community.

Since the introduction of Request on Fantom in late August of last year, the unique wallet addresses on Fantom have surged by 440%, reaching a total of 1.9 million. The total value locked (TVL) within the network has skyrocketed by an incredible 1,248%, amounting to $9.2 billion.

Throughout this period, the Fantom Foundation has turned to Request Finance to facilitate payments for its growing team of employees and contractors. Likewise, the influx of projects attracted to Fantom for its low fees and rapid transaction finality are increasingly utilizing Request Finance to enhance their invoicing processes and to manage DAO treasuries via integration with multi-signature wallets like Fantom Safe.

Steps to create and send an invoice on the Fantom network using Request

Log into your Request account
Click the “Create an invoice” button
Add or select the client for the “Your client information” section
Keep the “How do you want to receive funds?” field set to the default option: crypto, meaning the payer pays in crypto
Click on the “More” button (the ellipses icon) next to the list of cryptocurrencies
Select the “All networks” field and choose Fantom
Then pick the payment currency you want to receive on the Fantom network
Establish your invoice currency based on the payment currency selected in the previous step*
Fill in the remainder of your invoice details: item descriptions, quantities, unit prices, discounts, and taxes
Double-check to ensure your invoice number, issue date, and payment due date are all correct.
Click the “Create & Send” button to generate and dispatch the invoice

*What is the invoice currency? This is the currency your invoice will be issued in, which can be different from the payment currency you’ll receive. For instance, you can issue the invoice in USD (fiat), while receiving payment in FTM as the payment currency. Both the invoice and payment currencies can be set to the same currency, like FTM.

How to settle an invoice on Fantom using Request

Log into your Request account
Select “Received Invoices” from the sidebar menu in the Invoices section
Choose the invoice you intend to pay
Click on “Pay now”
Select a wallet
Follow the instructions from your wallet to complete the payment
Once payment is successful, the invoice status will be updated to “Paid”
