As Mi Primer Bitcoin celebrates its three-year anniversary, the organization based in El Salvador has revealed the promotion of two staff members — Reyna Chicas and Quentin Ehrenmann — to leadership roles.
Chicas, a proud Salvadoran who has been part of the organization for about two years, has rapidly progressed from teacher to Lead Teacher, then to a seat on the Board of Directors, and now assumes the role of Director of Education. She demonstrated exceptional promise from the outset of her journey with Mi Primer Bitcoin (MPB), when she was sent to teach in the community at Bitcoin Lake in Guatemala for six months. Over the past year, she has served as the main point of contact for MPB in its communications with the Ministry of Education in El Salvador.
“Having started my journey as a teacher, I’ve witnessed the profound impact that education can have in fostering growth and transformation,” Chicas remarked in MPB’s announcement.
“Taking on this new role as Director of Education, my dedication is more resolute than ever to foster more inspiring stories through MPB, serving as a positive role model for my people both locally and globally, and to demonstrate that with passion, effort, and commitment, we can pave the way for a brighter future,” she continued.
Ehrenmann has also emerged as a notable talent since joining MPB in 2023, recently taking on the role of General Manager for the organization. For his debut project with MPB, he relocated to an underserved island off the eastern coast of El Salvador, where he initiated an education-driven circular economy. Afterward, he moved to the mountainous region of Berlin, El Salvador, to engage in community education efforts. Subsequently, he advanced to the position of Director of Operations, where he contributed to the expansion of MPB’s Node Network of Independent Educators, which now encompasses teachers in 27 countries.
“From participating in a special project on the island off El Salvador to joining the leadership team and helping to fulfill our mission, my experience at Mi Primer Bitcoin has been remarkably fulfilling,” Quentin shared in MPB’s announcement. “I am excited about the prospect of bringing independent Bitcoin education to the next 100,000 students.”
