The orbix CUSTODIAN service is being crafted by Unita Capital, a wholly-owned subsidiary of KBank. In October of the previous year, KBank acquired a cryptocurrency exchange, subsequently rebranding it to orbix TRADE. The bank has also initiated separate orbix subsidiaries dedicated to various functions, including investment management and custody.</p>
<p class="p1">The orbix group is comprised of several divisions, including orbix INVEST, which launched its fund management services in July, and orbix TECHNOLOGY, focused on developing blockchain infrastructure. These entities collectively support KBank’s holistic approach to offering a diverse array of digital asset solutions and services.</p>
<h2 class="p1">Strategic Ventures and Investments in Digital Finance</h2>
<p class="p1">Mr. Pipit Aneaknithi, KBank's President, stated that <a href="https://www.kasikornbank.com/en/news/pages/launch-of-orbix-custodian.aspx">the unveiling of orbix CUSTODIAN</a> marks a pivotal advancement in enhancing digital asset security within Thailand. He noted that the new custodian service will be instrumental in bolstering the country's digital asset enterprises. “This initiative provides a robust platform for furthering the development of digital financial infrastructure, positioning Thailand as a digital economy hub and revitalizing the nation's digital sector,” Mr. Pipit remarked.</p>
<p class="p1">In addition to digital assets, KASIKORNBANK is actively exploring the tokenization of conventional financial products and services. The Thai bank partnered with Citi in a funding round for BondbloX, a Singapore-based platform specializing in fractional bond trading. Furthermore, KBank launched KXVC, a $100 million venture capital fund aimed at investing in web3, decentralized finance (DeFi), and artificial intelligence (AI) initiatives in September.</p>
<p class="p1">Beyond these investments, KBank is also engaged in various venture-building projects. A recent initiative includes Ainu, a digital identity verification platform, designed to enhance security and compliance in the digital realm.
