The Huddle01 decentralized Real-Time Communications Network operates as a multifaceted platform with Media Nodes, offering dRTC bandwidth for participants and those engaging in audio/video meetings.
On November 6, 2024, Huddle01, a pioneering decentralized real-time communications layer, will initiate its media node sale. Huddle01 is redefining decentralized communication by providing a solid and effective solution to the challenges that conventional real-time communication (RTC) providers encounter. Since 2023, Huddle01 has facilitated over 6 million minutes for more than 100,000 events.
The inaugural dRTC Network
Huddle01 stands out as the first Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Network (DePIN) catering to RTC or audio/video conferences. Huddle01 improvises unused internet bandwidth via node operators to facilitate seamless audio-videocommunication through its cutting-edge decentralized, or dRTC network.
In contrast to most DePINs, Huddle01 is constructed from the demand side, tackling the substantial operational costs and geographical latency hurdles that centralized RTC networks face. Established during the Covid-19 pandemic as Indian educational institutions transitioned online, Huddle01 supplanted centralized communication systems that direct calls through remote servers — often across continents — resulting in considerable delays and reduced video conferencing quality.
By decreasing dependency on centralized data centers, Huddle01 significantly lowers developers’ server expenses for audio and video calls by as much as 95% compared to AWS, leading to more affordable and efficient communication.
The application layer of Huddle01, Huddle01 Meet, incorporates Web3-native tools, allowing users to connect wallets, utilize NFT profile images as avatars, and host token-gated meetings. Video recordings can be securely saved on the InterPlanetary File System (IPFS), underscoring the platform’s dedication to decentralization and security.
Under the leadership of CEO and Co-Founder Ayush Ranjan and Co-Founder and CTO Susmit Lavania, Huddle01 boasts a seasoned team with over 15 years in RTC and more than 5 years in token engineering. The leadership at Huddle01 includes alumni from BlockScience, ConsenSys, Polygon, Cardano, Persistence, CoinDCX, and Guardian Link.
Nodes enhance latency
Huddle01 Media Nodes — the central unit of Huddle01’s dRTC network — supply the essential bandwidth to encode, decode, and route audio/video packets, ensuring uninterrupted communication worldwide.
“Google Meets and Zoom together account for 300 million minutes of streaming daily. If Huddle01 captures merely 1-5% of this market within the next year, it could create unparalleled web3 adoption,” stated CTO Susmit Lavania.
While latency issues, including lags and glitches, stall innovation in developing regions, they also impede productivity universally. Improved internet services can enhance distance education, streaming, gaming, and healthcare.
“These nodes will empower a network that is already surpassing incumbent web2 competitors in latency where there’s a significant node cluster and can alleviate lags globally,” remarked Ayush Ranjan, CEO of Huddle01.
“We are thrilled to kick off this node sale; as we sell more nodes, the advantages for consumers and businesses will expand. Node operators are incentivized to run a node, enabling them to create added value for themselves while visibly experiencing improvements in latency across all their applications,” Ranjan added.

About Huddle01
Huddle01 is a decentralized real-time communication (dRTC) network designed for audio and video streaming – a DePIN dedicated to RTC – that has amassed over 6 million minutes of meetings to date. This dRTC network removes the reliance on centralized servers for real-time communication globally.
Huddle01 aims to democratize connectivity across the digital landscape, allowing users to utilize top-tier bandwidth without depending on local physical infrastructures. The network has secured $6M in funding and is supported by notable investors like Balaji Srinivasan, Stani Kulechov, and leading VC firms such as Hivemind, Protocol Labs, Superscrypt, Consensys, and others.
Huddle01 enables the rapid creation of high-quality audio/video applications. Its comprehensive SDKs have allowed various web3 applications to integrate the composable Huddle01 SDKs as their video communication infrastructure. Over 100 projects, including Lens Protocol, Solana, and CyberConnect, have utilized these developer SDKs. Soon, Huddle01 plans to welcome 1.5M active users to its dRTC network through forthcoming integrations.
