Devfolio for Ethereum India Fellowship 2.0
Devfolio’s Ethereum India Fellowship 2.0 featured two tracks, each designed for different groups to undergo an extensive 8 weeks of training and mentorship aimed at integrating talented developers into the Ethereum ecosystem.
Track 1 welcomed 20 skilled Web2 developers, many with minimal or no blockchain experience, to:
- Master foundational concepts for Ethereum development, including Solidity, Remix, and Hardhat
- Investigate a range of applications from DeFi to DAOs, NFTs, and decentralized storage
- Engage in an Ethereum-based project of their choosing
Track 2 catered to intermediate Web3 developers, focusing intensively on project development throughout the 8 weeks. Projects included innovative L2 implementations and secure privacy infrastructure, guided by industry experts.
The EtherPunk online hackathon, held in the first half of the fellowship, presented a timely opportunity for fellows to showcase their projects and connect with notable developers for feedback and presentations.
The fellows achieved significant milestones both during and after the program — creators who began with little to no Ethereum knowledge have successfully secured thousands of dollars in hackathon prizes and internships at leading companies in the ecosystem. You can view the fellows’ final project submissions here.

Web3 Labs for Web3j
Web3j is a Java Virtual Machine (JVM) and Android integration library for Ethereum, developed to simplify Ethereum work for Java developers. Given that Java is widely used in enterprise environments, and the JVM is a popular development platform, Web3j—initially launched by Web3 Labs founder Conor Svensson in 2016 to support JVM developers—has received consistent updates from Web3 Labs since 2017. Web3 Labs has been awarded a grant to continue their enhancements on Web3j, which includes recent efforts such as:
- Revamping the Web3j documentation
- Refreshing the Maven plugin
- Progress on managing Solidity library dependencies
- Enhancing support for smart contract migrations
The Web3 Labs team will remain the custodians of Web3j, with future plans focusing on improving developer experience, implementing eth2 client open APIs, and fulfilling enhancement requests obtained from a recent user survey, along with ongoing maintenance.
Follow Web3 Labs on Twitter @web3labs or contribute to Web3J on GitHub.
