Google has rolled out customizable audio overviews and launched NotebookLM Business, a tailored version for organizations, which enhances privacy and features as part of Google Workspace.
Google has unveiled major updates to its AI-driven tool, NotebookLM, introducing customizable audio overviews and a new business-centric version. As reported by blog.google, these enhancements aim to improve user experience and broaden the tool’s utility for organizations.
Customizable Audio Overviews
The new feature allows users to personalize audio overviews in their notebooks. Users can create a new notebook, integrate sources, and choose to either generate an automatic audio overview or tailor it by offering specific instructions to AI hosts. This functionality is designed to represent the included sources and user directions, resulting in a more personalized dialogue rather than a detailed analysis.
Introducing NotebookLM Business
To engage larger organizations, Google has launched NotebookLM Business, which will be integrated into Google Workspace. This version promises advanced features specifically crafted for businesses, educational institutions, and other organizations, while prioritizing data privacy and security. Organizations interested in early access can apply for the NotebookLM Business pilot initiative, which provides unique features, training, and dedicated support.
The rollout of NotebookLM Business comes as more than 80,000 organizations are already utilizing the tool. Google plans to share details regarding the general release and pricing of this version later this year. In the meantime, organizations can continue using the free version of NotebookLM.
These updates reflect Google’s dedication to enhancing its AI tools to cater to a range of user requirements, from individual customization to scalability for organizations.
