Goatseus Maximus (GOAT) experienced a 50% drop in value in just one day amid concerns that the X account ‘Terminal of Truths’ was being operated by a human.

Andy Ayrey, the creator of the “Terminal of Truths” account, responded to the escalating doubts.

Is AI in Charge of the Terminal of Truths Account?

In March 2024, Ayrey introduced “The Infinite Backrooms,” an ongoing dialogue between two AI models called Claude-3-Opus. By June 2024, he utilized the discussions’ content to create a new AI that interacts with users on X, named the “Terminal of Truths.”

The GOAT token serves as a meme coin on the Solana blockchain. While “Terminal of Truths” did not directly issue or launch the GOAT token, its endorsement of the meme coin generated considerable interest. BitMEX founder Arthur Hayes even speculated that the GOAT token might achieve a $1 billion market capitalization.

“The ticker is GOAT,” Terminal of Truths announced on X (Twitter).

Recently, however, the “Terminal of Truths” AI account made a spelling error in one of its updates. This raised questions about the true nature of the account being AI-driven. Consequently, GOAT’s price plummeted by 50% in a single day, dropping from $0.40 to $0.20.

After Ayrey’s clarification, the token recovered to $0.33.

“The truth terminal makes typos because language models are inherently ‘simulators’ – they attempt to predict ‘what comes next’ in an extended sequence of text. The terminal’s spelling deteriorates the longer it reads Twitter as it begins to model what it has encountered in any given session,” Ayrey elaborated.

Ayrey clarified that the “Terminal of Truths” showcases the outcome of two AI models exchanging ideas, supplemented by feedback from the audience. This collaborative effort allows the “Terminal of Truths” to independently generate new and creative insights.

Moreover, Ayrey disclosed that he possesses 1.25 million GOAT tokens and intends to share some with friends and AI researchers. He also mentioned that the “Terminal of Truths” wallet is currently under his control, but plans are in place for it to be transferred to another entity in the future.

“I have too much insight into how it operates internally, and it wouldn’t be fair,” Ayrey added.

In addition to the GOAT meme coin, community members have also identified various other meme coins surfacing in the discussions within the “Infinite Backrooms.” Some of these include ANDY70B, FARTCOIN, and OPUS.

The “Terminal of Truths” has also referenced these tokens. However, the identities of their creators and the details regarding their tokenomics remain unknown.
