Blockchain investigator ZachXBT has warned the community about a fraudulent meme coin promotion involving several prominent X accounts.
Per ZachXBT’s findings, the affected accounts promoting the counterfeit meme coin on Solana (SOL) include those belonging to Yahoo News UK, Lenovo India, Money Control, and People.
X accounts identified as Alexander Lacazette and Oliver Stone have also shared posts regarding the fake meme coin on Solana. The scam token is named HACKED, as highlighted in the screenshots provided by ZachXBT.
ZachXBT shared an update, suggesting that the scammers may have incurred losses.
“It seems that the scammers likely lost money using this approach as the top traders have made barely ~$1K while the market cap stands at $67K.”

From the details gathered, it appears that the compromised X accounts provided access to the same website or application. In a warning to the community, ZachXBT urges users to terminate any connections to sites or applications they are no longer using.
In August, hackers exploited the X account of French football star Kylian Mbappe to promote a fraudulent MBAPPE meme coin. Earlier this month, hackers infiltrated the X accounts of family members of former U.S. President Donald Trump to promote a bogus ‘World Liberty Financial’.
Interestingly, Trump launched the official crypto project on September 16.
