- BitBoy Crypto predicts that XRP could surpass Ethereum in market capitalization by the year 2025.
- According to BitBoy Crypto, the price of XRP might soar by 20 to 30 times, potentially reaching $15.6 or higher.
Ripple [XRP] has the potential to overtake Ethereum [ETH] in market value by 2025, as stated by Ben Armstrong, also known as BitBoy Crypto.
BitBoy Crypto referenced XRP’s exceptional performance in 2018, which placed it second on CoinMarketCap, with ETH following in third place by market cap.
“XRP previously flipped ETH on January 8, 2018, during the last altcoin season surge, shortly after Bitcoin peaked.”

During that period, XRP’s market capitalization reached $130 billion, compared to ETH’s $111 billion. BitBoy anticipates a similar scenario in 2025, as the market collectively expects Bitcoin’s current cycle to peak that year.
“In 2018, XRP flipped Ethereum once. In 2025, it will occur again. Prepare for the upcoming bull market. The $XRP Army is aware of what’s coming.”
Could XRP surpass ETH?
Armstrong suggests that ETH may struggle to breach the psychological barrier of a $1 trillion market cap due to increased competition within layer 1 solutions.
His analysis indicates that ETH might triple in value but could struggle around the $940 billion mark.
In contrast, BitBoy estimates that XRP could grow 20 times from its current price, achieving a market capitalization of $600 billion and possibly reaching $11. He noted,
“A 20x increase could elevate XRP’s price to $11. For XRP to overtake ETH, it would require ETH to peak before XRP while XRP gains momentum.”
He emphasized that the flipping scenario might become reality if XRP experiences a growth of 25x to 30x, leading to a price range of $13 to $15.6 from the current $0.52.
However, he acknowledged that the lawsuit involving Ripple Labs remains a significant hurdle for XRP’s price advancement. He even suggested that XRP could have flipped ETH in 2021 if the lawsuit had not been an impediment.
The XRP/ETH ratio chart, which reflects XRP’s performance relative to ETH, aligns with his views to a degree. ETH outperformed XRP in the early months of 2024 as the lawsuit continued to unfold.

Nevertheless, a favorable ruling against the SEC in the latter half of 2024 allowed XRP to temporarily outperform ETH.
From May to August, it surged 86% compared to ETH, demonstrating a significant outperformance against the leading altcoin. Whether this upward trend will carry on towards the next target at 0.0003 remains uncertain.
Currently, XRP has dipped back to $0.50. With the lawsuit still unfolding, the altcoin may face challenges in the near term.
