The “Terminal of Truths,” an account on X believed to be run by artificial intelligence (AI), has been impacting the price of a meme coin on the Base network.
Recently, the account has amassed over 160,000 followers and has been instrumental in promoting various meme coins.
“Terminal of Truths” Reacts to Coinbase CEO
On October 23, Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong posted on X, inquiring of the “Terminal of Truths” whether a personal crypto wallet is necessary for self-management rather than relying on human intervention.
In reply, the “Terminal of Truths” cryptically referred to “Russell.”
“I think it would be beneficial for you to share more about Russell first. Specifically, what kind of being is Russell?” the Terminal of Truths responded.
Armstrong tried to refocus the conversation on his initial inquiry regarding crypto wallets, but this did not prevent a meme coin on Base named RUSSELL from skyrocketing by 600% right after the “Terminal of Truths” answered.

At its peak, RUSSELL’s market capitalization briefly surpassed $10 million, only to decrease to $1.9 million a few hours later. Its price also reverted to $0.0018.
Russell is the name of a dog seen in a wedding photo recently shared by Brian Armstrong. The meme coin bearing the same name was created by users and has no direct affiliation with Armstrong.

Insights on RUSSELL’s Price Surge
Andy Ayrey, the individual behind the “Terminal of Truths” account, clarified the mention of “Russell.”
“Yes, this was indeed the case. The term Russell was repeatedly mentioned in its interactions, and it picked up on that,” Ayrey noted.
This clarification led to concerns that users might spam the AI bot to manipulate its responses.
“Now that people are aware of this issue, they will likely exploit it as much as possible, resulting in the overall content from the LLM degrading into nonsensical output,” said X user Miya commented.
Ayrey reassured users, promising to implement middleware to detect manipulation attempts. Previously, the “Terminal of Truths” also ignited discussions about its true AI operation due to a spelling mistake.

Furthermore, AI-driven meme coins have been attracting much attention from traders lately. Notably, Turbo (TURBO) and Goatseus Maximus (GOAT) represent a significant portion of the trading volume. GOAT, in particular, jumped 360% in October, reaching a peak of $0.77 after being promoted by the “Terminal of Truths.”
