In the years to come, numerous anecdotes will emerge about the formative period of Ethereum. We will look back fondly on how an unusual yet robust technology began to transform the fabric of trust across the internet. Some will recall their doubts, while others might assert they always believed in its potential to reshape the world. Yet, those future stories remain distant – shrouded by the familiar hurdles and uncertainties we face today.
However, there are vital stories unfolding right now that warrant our attention. Stories of individuals; their journeys of learning, growth, optimism, and experience. The Next Billion Fellowship at the Ethereum Foundation seeks passionate individuals who can share their contemporary stories and projects aimed at the future.
From now until January 15th, 2024, applications are being accepted for cohort 4 of the Next Billion Fellowship. Throughout a six-month period, NxBn Fellows will delve into and develop a project that embodies a personal endeavor toward a brighter future, receiving guidance from peers and mentors from across the Ethereum ecosystem.
There are no rigid requirements for a NxBn fellowship project or narrative. Previous cohorts’ projects have ranged from innovative research pieces to building proofs-of-concept and collaborative initiatives outside the web3 realm. The NxBn Fellowship is but a small chapter in a broader story; incoming fellows will typically have commenced their endeavors beforehand, continuing to develop their projects long after the fellowship concludes. The only prerequisite is for fellows to genuinely articulate their project’s context to the public and openly share their insights (or code) with the community. We appreciate your interest and eagerly await your stories.
For those interested in learning more about the Next Billion Fellowship, two “Office Hours” sessions will be held during the application timeframe:
- December 6th, 2023 at 16:00 UTC
- January 9th, 2024 at 06:00 UTC
