Core Foundation, an innovative blockchain powered by Bitcoin that acts as the Proof of Stake layer for Bitcoin, proudly announces the integration of its Dual Staking: CORE Staking and BTC Staking directly into Copper’s custody platform. This advancement allows institutional investors to stake their BTC and CORE directly from their Copper custody accounts, ensuring a secure and efficient process without requiring transfers to external wallets. This represents the industry’s first implementation of self-custodial BTC staking within a custodian’s platform, establishing a new benchmark for security and efficiency.

The partnership with Copper’s custody interface enables institutions to enhance their digital asset investments in a safe and efficient manner. By providing this seamless staking option, Core continues to pioneer innovative and secure solutions for institutional stakeholders within the cryptocurrency sector.

“This collaboration with Copper marks a crucial milestone for Core, as it introduces the first self-custodial BTC staking option to the institutional sector,” stated Brendon Sedo, Initial Contributor to Core. “Institutions are seeking secure methods to bolster their Bitcoin investments, and our integration with Copper allows us to cater to that demand by delivering a reliable, effective, and secure approach to staking BTC and CORE right within a custodial framework.”

Copper, a frontrunner in digital asset custody and prime services, has played a vital role in realizing this integration. Their strong infrastructure empowers clients to utilize Core’s staking systems without sacrificing safety or operational productivity.

Core blockchain stands as the #1 Bitcoin scaling chain with 21 million unique addresses, 279,000 daily transactions, 55% of Bitcoin hash power, and over 100 DeFi dApps, achieving more than $~430M in total value locked (TVL). With 4,500 BTC staked—Core remains the only available Bitcoin staking solution, while others are focused on restaking options.

About Core

Core functions as the Proof of Stake layer for Bitcoin, pioneering Self-Custodial Bitcoin Staking, which underpins a fully EVM-compatible BTCfi ecosystem. Since April 2024, over 4,500 BTC have been staked with Core, boosting Bitcoin’s utility and security.

Core is the premier Bitcoin-aligned EVM blockchain, with approximately 55% of Bitcoin mining hash power supporting the security of the network. This achievement has attracted millions of Core supporters – over 21M unique addresses, over 279M transactions, and over 430M TVL since its mainnet launch in January 2023.
