The popular Telegram clicker game Hamster Kombat is receiving criticism prior to the launch of its HMSTR crypto token on Thursday, after players voiced their concerns over the airdrop distribution strategy, which could potentially be the largest ever.
Players are particularly frustrated about a little-known decision to retain 11.25% of the tokens until July 2025, and there are grievances regarding the distribution criteria, with many asserting that an unreasonable amount of tokens are allocated to YouTube influencers.
“Individuals dedicated weeks and months grinding in-game, only to earn ₹500 worth of $HMSTR,” commented Anuj Gupta on X. “Meanwhile, influencers who contributed nothing received ₹10 lakh [1 lakh = 100,000] in $HMSTR solely through referrals. Everyone anticipated substantial airdrops, but it consistently ends up like this.”

Since March 26, over 300 million users have participated in Hamster Kombat, with 131 million confirming eligibility for the airdrop on September 26th. According to Hamster Kombat on X, approximately 2.3 million users were banned due to cheating. The HMSTR airdrop could establish a record based on the number of recipients.

Hamster Kombat Airdrop May Not Overburden the TON Blockchain
Early this year, the team postponed the airdrop, cautioning that the TON blockchain could face overload.
However, it is reportedly set to implement a new technology for the airdrop that will prevent the overload experienced during the Notcoin (NOT) and Dogs (DOGS) airdrops.
You’ve never experienced something like this on TON!
Forget everything you think you know about tokens; this isn’t a scam, and it’s certainly not a honeypot. This innovation is dubbed Mintless Token Technology, the future on the TON blockchain!
